Publication of your Patent Application

Approximately eighteen months after the first application was filed, the application is published, together with the search report if available.

You can stop publication if you wish to do so by withdrawing your application at any point up to about 1 month before the date scheduled for publication.

However, if the search report was favourable and the chances of obtaining a patent are good, you will probably decide to proceed with the application to the next stage: prosecution.
