With over 20 years experience, I have had the privilege of assisting a diverse range of clients, from individual inventors and start-ups to large multinational corporations. I have significant experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications worldwide across a broad spectrum of technologies, including: aerospace; electronic devices and communication systems; semiconductor component design; semiconductor fabrication processes; military technologies; mechanical devices; agricultural machinery; offshore structures; oilfield drilling systems; ESA radar systems; lidar system; laser amplifiers; laser designators; optical amplifiers; broandband antenna; IR sensors and pixel circuits; RF over-fibre systems; photonic systems; implantable and diagnostic medical devices; CVD processes, organic glasses; corrosion inhibitor formulations; and inkjet formulations.

Through working with a broad range of clients over many years I have developed a broad commerical awareness that enables me to provide commerically orientated IP advice.

As a holder of the IP Litigation Certfitcate and a Representative before the Unitary Patent Court I am able to assist clients all the way from initial conception of an invention to enforcement of their rights at the IPEC or the Unitary Patent Court.

Graduated in Physics at Liverpool University in 1968. Trained and qualified as a Patent Attorney in private practice in London. Experienced in protecting inventions across a broad spectrum of technologies. Worked as an in-house Patent and Trade Mark Attorney for Marconi from 1978 to 2003 with special responsibilities for Trade Marks, disputes, litigation and contractual issues. Awarded the UK Higher Courts Litigator Certificate in 2001. Represented the United Kingdom Government on issues relating to patents and telecommunication standards.
